STS Health commenced business in 1992 as Scientific Technical Services under Edward Thame, a biomedical engineer and the founding Managing Director. The company provided specialised technical support for biochemistry, histopathology and haematology instrumentation in pathology laboratories located in major hospitals and private enterprise throughout Western Australia . In 1993 the company identified a need for high quality, professional support to raise the standard of service of bench-top sterilisers (autoclaves) and commenced provision of its expertise in the servicing of bench-top sterilisers throughout the metropolitan areas of Perth under the name of Autoclave Services. Service was soon extended to most major regional centres throughout Western Australia. The Autoclave Services division of the company grew rapidly in the following years as word of mouth spread the reputation for fast and competent service provision and excellence in workmanship.

In 1997, in response to customers' requests for better sterilising equipment, Autoclave Services commenced importation of the outstanding Mocom range of bench-top sterilisers. Sales distribution throughout Australia was achieved by working closely with medical and dental suppliers in each state. To provide excellent customer support, a network arrangement was formed with a number of other customer-focused service businesses with high technical standards, located throughout Australia. Also during this time, the company continued slowly widening the range of equipment supported in Western Australia, choosing to develop expertise in select equipment rather than dabble in everything.

In 2002, to better represent the wider scope of equipment supported, and to provide a base for expansion of the sales and service departments, all health-related activity of Scientific Technical Services and Autoclave Services were re-branded under the new name of STS Health.

The company has grown and changed greatly over the past decade. In more recent years, the death of Edward Thame in February 2000 required a major restructuring of the company under the guidance of Ed's wife, Deborah. The growth and development of the business since those difficult days has been a credit to the entire staff of the company, a fact that was recognised publicly in 2002 when the company was chosen as a finalist in the Family Business Association Awards and won the "Best Family Business Employer" award. As any employer knows, it is the exceptional staff that makes an exceptional business.

STS Health is a family owned business run on Christian principles. The recently upgraded offices, workshop and warehouse facilities are in Osborne Park, Western Australia. The current staff of 11, includes Service Engineers, Sales & Marketing and Administrative personnel.
